JOB DESCRIPTION
Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for men and women who love Jesus and want to help give homeless men and women a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.
The Grants Coordinator must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. This minister must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
Job Description: The Grants Coordinator works closely with the Chief Development Officer and the Development team of Boise Rescue Mission Ministries to oversee the full lifecycle of grant activities. This position will be responsible for researching, identifying, applying for, reporting on, and managing grants from private foundations and businesses to secure funding for the Mission’s facilities and programs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, skilled in grant writing, and has a deep understanding of the non-profit sector and fundraising.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Grant Research and Identification
- Keep informed about current statistics and news related to homelessness
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with Boise Rescue Mission Ministries’ mission, program, and projects.
- Stay updated on current trends, policies, and funding sources within the non-profit sector
- Grant Proposal Development
- Write compelling grant proposals, applications and letters of inquiry
- Collaborate with program managers and other staff to gather information needed for grant applications and stay updated on program changes
- Customize proposals to meet specific requirements of different grant making organizations
- Relationship Building
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential funders, foundations, and philanthropic partners.
- Communicate effectively with funders to provide updates on funded projects andrespond to inquiries
- Provide tours to funders and set meetings to discuss the Mission’s programs andservices
- Meet and thank funders at check presentations and other events
- Consistently communicate with Mission staff regarding funding opportunities,changes in programs and the spending of grant monies
- Grant Management
- Monitor and track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and deliverables (We currently use Asana to manage grants.)
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports to funders, showcasing the impact of funds and progress towards goals. Mail year-end impact report to all foundation funders
- Input foundation contact information, details, funding requests and businesses rules into Raiser’s Edge database
- Ensure compliance with grant terms, recognition, regulations and reporting guidelines
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with Mission staff, finance, and other departments to ensurealignment between grant-funded initiatives and organizational objectives
- Work together with the Business department to develop project budgets and forfinancial reporting
- Grant Strategy
- Contribute to the development of the Mission’s grant strategy, including identifying new funding opportunities and potential areas for growth (may also include capital campaigns)
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer or President/CEO including meetings with other staff and departments.

- A gifted communicator in writing, both on the phone and in person
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- A researcher of information whether that be searching for new funders, obtainingstatistics to submit with proposals or talking to Mission staff to gather information onprograms and services
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experienced in project management and budgeting
- A graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced writing is a plus
