Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for people who love Jesus and want to help give homeless children a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.
The In-Person Tutor must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. The In-Person Tutor must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
Job Summary: Boise Rescue Mission Ministries currently has a full-time, temporary (2020-21 school year) position open in Boise from 7:30 am – 4 pm, Monday through Friday. The Tutor oversees and assists students in grades K-12 with their regular school curricula while the school buildings are closed. This is NOT a remote position; tutoring takes place in-person and on-site.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Keep the building secure
Interact with guests and their children in a positive, compassionate manner
Assist elementary, middle- and high-school-aged students with their teacher-assigned schoolwork including reading, spelling, math, social studies, history, language arts, etc.
Oversee recess, lunchtime, completion of chores by students
General cleaning and restocking
Other tasks and assignments as necessary
General computer skills
Excellent communication skills
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
Detail oriented and good organizational skills
Work independently, make informed decisions, problem solve in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. Ability to lift 30 lbs.
