Job Summary: Boise Rescue Mission is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance candidate to join the Maintenance team. The position reports to the Men’s Ministry Director and will provide support in the day-to-day building maintenance, operational activities and repairs at all Mission facilities. This position will also help oversee assigned intern workers and scheduled maintenance volunteers.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Performs hands-on maintenance related activities including: painting, plumbing, electrical, patching walls, repairing doors, windows, locks, etc.
Supports the operation of facility equipment and systems regularly to minimize unplanned downtime, to solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Communicates regularly with direct supervisor to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
Carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
Communicates directly with direct supervisor to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process.
Utilizes computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders and maintenance history of RM facilities.
Maintains an accurate inventory of all tools and building supplies as needed.
Performs special maintenance projects as assigned.
Ensures that all equipment is in proper working order.
Maintains a clean, safe and unobstructed workplace
Ability to manage interns work as to not interfere with their program and medical schedules.
Perform monthly evaluations on interns that you supervise, and keep in contact with the new Life Program Manager regarding any issues.
May participate in various fund-raising events throughout the year
Complete other tasks and responsibilities as necessary
Sound judgment regarding use of equipment, tools, material, and manpower.
Proven general “handy-man” talents and skills e.g. excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and follow-through skills.
Skill in operation of motorized vehicles, power and hand tools and equipment for vehicle and mechanical system work; mechanic’s tools including jacks, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and other tools required for repairs and routine maintenance.
Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to prioritize requests, follow procedures and keep accurate records.
Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer), database entry, reporting and maintenance.
Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining professional, flexible, proactive, resourceful, confidential and efficient.
Strong decision making ability, problem analysis and solving skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with staff, students and guests in person and on the phone.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational and administrative skills.
Maintains an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our insurance carrier)
High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of one year of Lead Maintenance work experience or any combination of work experience and education to make equivalent.
