Give Through Your IRA and Change a Life

Your retirement savings can do more than provide for your future, they can also change someone else’s!

If you’re age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA to Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. This is called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), and it’s one of the most powerful, and often overlooked, ways to give.

What Is a QCD and How Does It Work?

A QCD is a direct gift from your traditional IRA to a qualified charity, like Boise Rescue Mission.

  • You must be at least 70½ years old to make a QCD.
  • Your gift must be made directly from your IRA—not withdrawn and then given.
  • If you’re 73 or older, a QCD can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
  • You can give up to $108,000 per year—tax-free!
  • Your gift will have immediate impact, providing meals, shelter, recovery, and hope.

We are a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and your IRA administrator can send your gift directly to us.

3 Simple Steps to Make a QCD

  1. Contact your IRA custodian and ask to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to:
    Boise Rescue Mission Ministries
    308 S. 24th Street, Boise, ID 83702
    Tax ID: 82-0259387
  2. Tell them the amount you want to give and confirm it will go directly to the charity.
  3. Let us know so we can thank you – we are truly grateful for your help!

Other Retirement Giving Options

If you’re not yet 70½—or want to make a gift that takes place in the future—you can name Boise Rescue Mission Ministries as a beneficiary of your:

  • IRA or 401(k)
  • 403(b) or pension plan
  • Other tax-deferred retirement accounts

This costs nothing today and helps ensure that your legacy will reflect your values. Retirement accounts left to heirs may be heavily taxed—but gifts to charities are tax-free and fully directed to ministry.

Your Retirement Can Do More Than You Think

Whether you’re giving now through a QCD or planning for later through a beneficiary designation, your retirement funds can help rewrite someone’s future.
