JOB DESCRIPTION
Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for men and women who love Jesus and want to help give homeless men and women a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.
The Community Engagement Coordinator must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. The Community Engagement Coordinator must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
Job Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator shares with community members about the needs, purpose, goals, and programming of the Rescue Mission through events, volunteer opportunities, needs drives, tabling events, and more. The Community Engagement Coordinator partners with the community to organize volunteer and donation opportunities. Some prescheduled evenings, early mornings, and weekends are required. The Community Engagement Coordinator reports to the Community Engagement Director.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Work closely with Rescue Mission staff to foster a healthy volunteer culture and best utilize resources for events
- Maintain event and volunteer scheduling and documentation, including, but not limited to, volunteer calendar and database, events contacts, participants, donors, event notes, and packing lists
- Respond promptly to volunteer, event, and needs drive inquiries via email and/or phone
- Share about the Rescue Mission with the community through events, tabling events, Mission tours, and meeting with volunteers
- Help prepare and conduct events throughout the year. This includes timing, venue, sponsors, donations, services, and Resue Mission staff, programmers, and volunteers
- Reach out to and assist community members with needs drives
- Occasionally drive vans not requiring a CDL
- Help with other tasks and assignments as necessary
Knowledge/Skills:
- Team player with superior interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication are essential
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Highly motivated self-starter, but also asks questions when needed
- Trouble shooter and able to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask, prioritize a number of projects, and meet deadlines
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
