JOB DESCRIPTION

Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for people who love Jesus and want to help give homeless women and children a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.

Children’s Program Staff must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. Children’s Program Staff must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.

Job Summary: Valley Women and Children’s Shelter in Nampa is currently looking for a Children’s Program Staff person. This person helps the Children’s Program Manager in supervising and meeting the needs of our children spiritually, academically and physically, including both structured learning time and free play time. This is a temporary full-time position from June 3rd to August 20th, forty hours each week scheduled between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.   

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Drive to various activities
  • Participate in daily devotions
  • Interactive play with children during all activities (i.e. swimming, outside games, dancing, etc.)
  • Supervise a group of children during Learning Center time
  • Interact with the children in a positive, compassionate manner 
  • Ensure vans are filled with fuel and cleaned each eveningHelp with other tasks and assignments as necessary

Knowledge/skills:

  • Able to connect with children from age 5-15
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a changing environment
  • Willingness to follow protocol regarding structure and discipline

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent    
  • Valid Driver’s License

    Development Assistant   – FT, Boise DA#20

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is seeking a full-time Development Assistant. This position assists the Chief Development Officer and Development Team in completing administrative tasks, communicating with donors, and assisting in fundraising events. 

    The Development Assistant must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. The Development Assistant must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith. 

    This is a full-time position. Normal schedule is 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Position requires working on-site in the Mission Administration building. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends outside of normal work hours.

    Responsibilities and Necessary Skills Include: 

    • Communication: Effectively communicates with Chief Development Officer to ensure successful completion of tasks. Contacts Mission staff to gather information and statistics. 
    • Production: Creates action plans and ensures all tasks are completed. Compiles data for monthly and annual reports. Writes purchase orders and creates monthly credit card reports. Updates and enters data into Raiser’s Edge database with accuracy and attention to detail. Creates and delivers donor recognition plaques and certificates. Tracks inventory of printed items. Uses Canva to create simple newsletters, postcards, etc. 
    • Events: Participates in some Mission events (grocery store donation days, annual holiday banquets, etc.), coordinates small events, and tracks RSVPs, when needed. 
    • Flexibility: Willing to take on other responsibilities to support the work of the Mission, which includes taking mail to the post office in evenings, delivering mail to other facilities, and other tasks as assigned.

      Job Summary: Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is seeking a full-time Data and Analytics Director. This position assists the Development Team to ensure a high-quality database, timely and accurate donor acknowledgement and importing/exporting of data. 

      The Data and Analytics Director must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. The Data and Analytics Director must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith. 

      This is a full-time position. Normal schedule is 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Position requires working onsite in the Mission Administration building. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends outside of normal work hours. 

      Responsibilities and Necessary Skills Include: 

      • Communication: Effectively communicates with Development team and business office to ensure accuracy of data entry for gifts. Works with Mission staff to ensure accuracy of data, mailings, etc. Provides daily thank you call reports to staff. 
      • Production: Runs and exports data for mailings, event invitations, phone calls, etc. Imports mailing data into database. Consistently cleans up database addresses, zip codes, etc. Prints and mails in-house special mailings. Ensures thank you letters mailed to donors within 24 hours of gift receipt. Assists Development Communications team with mailing counts, appeal codes, etc. Requests, edits and imports multiple thank you letters every month. 
      • Critical Thinking: Evaluates data base and seeks to utilize it more efficiently. Thinks through data entry processes in order to streamline. Makes decisions regarding data entry in partnership with staff, Chief Development Officer and Business Manager. Attend strategic meetings with Development leadership team and outside consultants to determine strategy for mailings. 
      • Overseeing Staff: Manages a data entry team of 3 that consists of data entry 1, data entry 2/volunteer data entry, receptionist/in-kind data entry (and a seasonal staff during the last three months of the year). Ensures data entry is accurate and completed on time. Assigns tasks and assists with questions. Trains all Mission staff in the use of the database. In-house troubleshooter for database. 
      • Flexibility: Willing to take on other responsibilities as needed to support the work of the Mission.

        Learning Center Coordinator – FT, Nampa LCC#20

        JOB DESCRIPTION

         The Learning Center Coordinator must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. They must be regular attendees of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith. 

        Job Summary: The Rescue Mission currently has a full-time position available in our Women and Children’s facility in Nampa to coordinate learning center policies and procedures to best assist students (both guests & programmers) with their education and work. This may also include teaching classes and career guidance. 

        Details: 

        • Reports to – Learning Center Manager 
        • Facility – Lighthouse (304 16th Ave N, Nampa, ID) 
        • Hours – full time (40 hours per week) Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 4:30pm 
        • Needs to be flexible to these standard hours as some evening classes do occur.

        Skills and Abilities Needed: 

        • Maturity and Christian character are the most desirable qualities of a Learning Center Coordinator. 
        • Proficiency in interpersonal communications and the ability to get along with others are also necessary skills. 
        • The Learning Center Coordinator needs to be organized and detail-oriented and have a high energy level. 
        • Proficiency in basic math (8th grade level) and written English are required. 
        • Able to work with all ages and types of people from all walks of life. 
        • Ability to give clear and concise instructions that are easy to follow. 
        • Knowledge of basic computer operations is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is required. 
        • Experience in career guidance is recommended. 
        • Teaching experience is not necessary, but also recommended. 

         Education Requirements: 

        • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. 
        • A college degree is not required but highly recommended. 
        • Need to be familiar with math and grammar concepts through an 8th grade level. Will take proficiency tests. 

        Duties and Responsibilities: 

        • Model Christian ethics, communicating high integrity and living according to the statement of faith as expressed in the Boise Rescue Mission Handbook. 
        • Attend monthly meetings with other Learning Center Coordinators and Learning Center Manager. 
        • Attain CPR Certification training that is required Mission wide. 
        • Attain certifications and training as opportunities become available. 
        • Attend All Staff Meetings and possible participation in Mission-wide events. 

        Oversee the Learning Center 

        • Maintain computers and printers (Learning Center Manager will call for IT help as needed). 
        • Help guests and programmers as needed. 
        • Assess and evaluate student performance, including new student assessments, periodic student review per policy, and career guidance. 
        • Keep education and work search resources up to date. 
        • Track/monitor guest & NLP usage (everyone needs to sign the Internet Usage Policy) 
        • Monitor student activities and report weekly progress to counselors/advisors/case managers. 
        • Maintain student records and collect stats. 
        • Motivate students to perform to the best of their abilities, encouraging and helping students to stay focused and motivated to learn. 
        • Evaluate current course material and recommend changes and updates as needed. 
        • Do individual and group tutoring as needed. 
        • Keep Learning Center clean and tidy. 

        Classes 

        • Assist Learning Center Manager to facilitate and schedule classes for both programmers and guests. 
        • Teach or help coordinate class volunteers and course material – this includes review and recommendation of changes and updates as needed. 

        Helping Guests Get Their GED / High School Diplomas 

        • Connect with CWI and Learning Lab as needed. 
        • Assist and coordinate courses for students working on their GED or High School Diploma. 
        • Set up tutoring as needed. 
        • Perform required reviews, assign lessons using Edmentum Education System. 
        • Set up GED account & coordinate test schedules. 

        Job/Career Training 

        • Connect with Create Common Good, Life’s Kitchen, Job Corp, Idaho Dept. of Labor, Voc. Rehab, etc. 
        • Connect with other job training resources / write referrals. 

        New Life Program / Cradle of Hope 

        • Do individual assessments of educational level. 
        • Facilitate testing to complete course work / GED. 
        • Do individual tutoring as appropriate / set up additional tutoring as needed. 
        • Help with Phase-work. 
        • Possibly teach classes/devotion. 
        • Help with employment opportunities, resumes, cover letters, etc. 
        • Attend any staff meeting as required. 

        Staff Training 

        • Assist Learning Center Manager in setting up classes for staff continuing education
        • Be willing to become a certified instructor for different training programs for the Mission.

          Women’s New Life Program Resident Advisor – Boise FT WNL#20

          JOB DESCRIPTION

           Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for women who love Jesus and want to help give homeless women a safe and stable place to get a new start in life. 

          The NLP Resident Advisor must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. The Facilities Coordinator must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith. 

          Job Summary: The NLP Resident Advisor position in Boise is a full-time position available Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 2:30pm. The Advisor oversees and assists residents staying in the New Life Program. 

          Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 

          •  Assist Advisors & managers with special needs for residents 
          • Driving residents to and from appointments 
          • Interact with families of residents during visiting times 
          • Running errands (walking or driving) 
          • Keep the building secure 
          • Interact with residents in a positive, compassionate manner 
          • Oversee the completion of chores by residents 
          • Facilitate general cleaning of the facility including laundry by the residents 
          • Supervise the restocking of supplies, clothing, etc. 
          • Assist in various fundraising events throughout the year 
          • Help with other tasks and assignments as necessary 

          Knowledge/Skills: 

          •  General computer skills 
          • Excellent communication skills 
          • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills 
          • Detail oriented and good organizational skills 
          • Work independently, make informed decisions, problem solve in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 
          • Ability to model and hold strong boundaries 

          Qualifications: 

          High School Diploma or equivalent
