Administrative Assistant – Full Time, Boise
JOB DESCRIPTION
Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for men and women who love Jesus and want to help give homeless individuals a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.
The Administrative Assistant must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. They must be regular attendees of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
Job Summary: The Rescue Mission currently has a full-time position available working as an administrative assistant at our Resource Center on the City Light campus in Boise.
Details:
- Reports to – Education Director
- Facility – Resource Center (1415 W. Jefferson St., Boise, ID)
- Hours – full time (40 hours per week) Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 4:30pm
- This position may require occasional evenings and weekends outside of normal work hours.
Skills and Abilities Needed:
- The Administrative Assistant needs to be organized, have a high level of thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills both verbally and written are required. Confident talking on the phone.
- A self-starter and asks questions when needed.
- Must be able to follow instructions carefully.
- A team-player with superior interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- The ability to multitask and prioritize a number of projects to meet deadlines.
- Work independently, make informed decisions, solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Research skills on a variety of topics and will help to implement ideas.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and must meet driver eligibility criteria.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A college degree is not required but highly recommended.
- Database experience (queries, data entry, etc.) is recommended but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, internet research with Intermediate typing skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend meetings as required.
- Attain CPR Certification training that is required Mission wide.
- Attain certifications and training as opportunities become available. Participation in Mission-wide events.
Administrative Duties
- Data Entry in multiple databases for both the city and the Mission. Data entry must be accurate and completed on time. Provides reports as needed.
- Works on cleaning up databases and communicating errors to management.
- Reception duties like answering phones and the front door, filing, etc.
- Running errands including interdepartmental mail to different facilities, as well as dropping off mail at the post office.
- Ordering office supplies and other items as requested.
- Keep Resource Center clean and tidy. Oversee NLP programmers who are assigned to help clean.
- Works with the Learning Center Team to prepare materials and curriculum for programs and classes.
- Keep the building secure.
- Help to organize clothing rooms in the different buildings.
- Have flexibility and a willingness to take on other responsibilities as needed to support the work of the Mission.

Administrative Assistant – Resource Center
Database Coordinator – Full Time, Boise
JOB DESCRIPTION
Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is seeking a full-time Database Coordinator. This position assists the Development Team to ensure a high-quality database, timely and accurate donor acknowledgement, strategy regarding mailing segments and importing/exporting of data.
The Database Coordinator must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. The Database Coordinator must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
This is a full-time position. Normal schedule is 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Position requires working onsite in the Mission Administration building. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends outside of normal work hours.
Responsibilities and Necessary Skills Included:
- Communication: Effectively communicates with Development team and business office to ensure accuracy of data entry for gifts. Works with Mission staff to ensure accuracy of data, mailings, etc. Provides daily thank you call reports to staff.
- Production: Runs and exports data for mailings, event invitations, phone calls, etc. Imports mailing data into database. Consistently cleans up database addresses, zip codes, etc. Assists with printing and mailing in-house special mailings. Ensures thank you letters mailed to donors within 24 hours of gift receipt. Assists Development Communications team with mailing counts, appeal codes, etc. Requests, edits and imports multiple thank you letters every month.
- Critical Thinking: Evaluates data base and seeks to utilize it more efficiently. Thinks through data entry processes in order to streamline. Makes decisions regarding data entry in partnership with staff, Chief Development Officer and Business Manager. Attend strategic meetings with Development leadership team and outside consultants to determine strategy for mailings.
- Manage Database: Ensures data entry is accurate and completed on time. Assign tasks and assists with questions. Trains all Mission staff in the use of the database. In-house troubleshooter for database.
- Flexibility: Willing to take on other responsibilities as needed to support the work of the Mission.

Children’s Program Staff – Temporary, Boise

Job Summary: City Light Home for Women and Children in Boise is currently looking for a Children’s Program Staff person. This person helps the Children’s Program Manager in supervising and meeting the needs of our children spiritually, academically and physically, including both structured learning time and free play time. This is a temporary full-time position from May 26 to August 17, forty hours each week scheduled between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Drive to various activities
- Participate in daily devotions
- Interactive play with children during all activities (i.e. swimming, outside games, dancing, etc.)
- Supervise a group of children during Learning Center time
- Interact with the children in a positive, compassionate manner
- Ensure vans are filled with fuel and cleaned each evening
- Help with other tasks and assignments as necessary
Knowledge/skills:
- Able to connect with children from age 5-15
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a changing environment
- Willingness to follow protocol regarding structure and discipline
Qualifications:

Job Summary: The NLP Resident Advisor position in Boise is a full-time position available, some weekends, 2:00pm – 10:00pm. The Advisor oversees and assists residents staying in the New Life Program.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assist Advisors & managers with special needs for residents
- Driving residents to and from appointments
- Interact with families of residents during visiting times
- Running errands (walking or driving)
- Keep the building secure
- Interact with residents in a positive, compassionate manner
- Oversee the completion of chores by residents
- Facilitate general cleaning of the facility including laundry by the residents
- Supervise the restocking of supplies, clothing, etc.
- Assist in various fundraising events throughout the year
- Help with other tasks and assignments as necessary

JOB SUMMARY: The Food Service Worker will provide routine food preparation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Welcomes volunteers and gives direction as needed.
- Directs Daily tasks for assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assists with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.
- Operates stove, oven, convection oven, grill.
- Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations after each meal daily.
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to appropriate location in the kitchen area.
- Refills condiments or other supplies.
- Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
- Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Basic computer skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of food service preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of facility.
