Development Assistant – Full Time, Boise
JOB DESCRIPTION
Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is seeking a full-time Development Assistant. This position assists the Chief Development Officer and Development Team in completing administrative tasks, communicating with donors, and assisting in fundraising events.
The Development Assistant must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. The Development Assistant must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
This is a full-time position. Normal schedule is 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Position requires working on-site in the Mission Administration building. This position will require occasional evenings and weekends outside of normal work hours.
Responsibilities and Necessary Skills:
- Communication: Effectively communicates with Chief Development Officer and Communications/Marketing Director to ensure successful completion of tasks. Contacts Mission staff to gather information and statistics. Organizes text communications and responds to comments.
- Production: Creates action plans and ensures all tasks are completed. Writes purchase orders and compiles monthly credit card reports. Updates and enters data into Raiser’s Edge database with accuracy and attention to detail. Tracks inventory of printed items. Uses Canva to create simple newsletters, postcards, etc. Organizes archives. Assists with annual Development budget.
- Events: Participates in some Mission events (grocery store donation days, annual holiday banquets, etc.), coordinates small events, and tracks RSVPs and arranges registration of events.
- Research: Assists CDO in researching new fundraising ideas, etc.
- Flexibility: Willing to take on other responsibilities to support the work of the Mission.

Preferred Education and Skills
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint
- Office assistant experience, a plus
- Raiser’s Edge or CRM database experience (queries, data entry, etc.), a plus
- Experience using office equipment
- Intermediate typing and computer skills
- Confidence in interacting with people in person, on the phone and via email

Development Assistant
Food Service Cook – Part-Time, Nampa
JOB DESCRIPTION
Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for women who love Jesus and want to help give homeless individuals a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.
The Food Services Cook must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. The Food Services Cook must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.
Job Summary: The Food Service Worker will provide routine food preparation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Welcomes volunteers and gives direction as needed.
- Directs Daily tasks for assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assists with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.
- Operates stove, oven, convection oven, grill.
- Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations after each meal daily.
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to appropriate location in the kitchen area.
- Refills condiments or other supplies.
- Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- General computer skills
- Capable of operating Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced constantly changing environment
- Detail-oriented and good organizational skills
- Capable of working as a part of a team
- Clean driving record
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
- Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Basic computer skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of food service preferred.
- Food handlers card.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- May be required to work in excessive heat and cold in association with the kitchen environment.

The resident advisor oversees and assists guests staying in our emergency shelters for homeless women and children.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Keep the building secure
- Interact with guests in a positive, compassionate manner
- Assist the guests with the intake process during the evening or help guests leave for the day
- Oversee the completion of chores by guests
- Prepare lunches
- General cleaning of the facilities including laundry
- Restock supplies, clothing, etc.
- Data entry
- May also participate in various fundraising events throughout the year
- Help with other tasks and assignments as necessary
Knowledge/skills:
- General computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and good organizational skills

Men’s Shelter Security Staff – Swing shift, Boise

Job Summary:
The Boise Rescue Mission currently has a full-time position for a security staff at our River of Life Men’s Shelter in Boise. Shifts will vary but will mainly be 11:00AM to 7:30PM 5 days a week. The security staff monitors meals, guest check-in, and other high-volume times to ensure the safety and security of everyone in our facilities. They do random checks of the property and rooms, and assists shelter staff with dorm checks, dealing with problem guests, and coordinating with senior staff to solve problems dealing with the safe and secure day to day operations. This position requires motivation, ability to learn quickly, thinking on your feet, plus following instructions carefully.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Monitoring activity inside and outside of the facilities to include neighboring properties to help prevent injury to people and damage to property.
- Assisting in emergency situations, reporting on incidents and accidents to include downloading and saving any relevant camera footage, giving statements to emergency responders as needed.
- May occasionally be called on to work at other facilities and Mission events as needed.
Knowledge and skills:
- General computer skills
- Capable of operating Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented
- Good organizational skills
- Capable of working as a part of a team
